Negotiating Complex Wayfront Decisions

You set up multiple agents—say, a 'Billing Agent' and an 'Operations Agent.' The Billing Agent checks `list_invoices`, while the Operations Agent checks `get_order`. They debate whose findings are most accurate regarding whether an update is permissible. The system runs to consensus. You don't get one answer; you get a negotiated decision that satisfies all competing requirements.

Multi-Perspective MCP Server Tooling

Need to onboard a client? An agent group can model this: the 'Validation Agent' calls `get_client` first. The 'Compliance Agent' then checks if that client is linked to any outstanding tickets found via `list_tickets`. They debate whether the profile should even be created. This deliberation process ensures your automated workflows don't miss crucial compliance steps.

Handling Conflicting Data Points

Imagine an order that was marked paid, but `list_tickets` shows a high number of unresolved issues. You can deploy agents to challenge this state—one agent argues for billing closure while another argues the operational risk is too high. The final output isn't just data; it's a reasoned recommendation based on weighing those conflicting pieces of Wayfront information.

Setup guide

Set up Wayfront MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Wayfront tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Wayfront_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Wayfront data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Wayfront MCP in AutoGen

The system runs multiple agents: one checks `list_invoices` for payments, and another uses `get_client` to verify account standing. They debate the best course of action until they agree on a final status update.
Yes. You can set up agents to challenge an attempted `update_order`. One agent might flag the change because `list_orders` shows it's already finalized, forcing a human review step.
You can deploy agents whose sole job is to cross-reference details. One agent gets the ID from `list_clients`, and another calls `get_client` to verify all associated records, leading to a final confirmation.
You can assign agents to call `list_services` and then have them argue about which services are available in certain regions or for specific types of clients, achieving consensus on the final catalog.
This server touches customer-relationship-management data, including client records (`get_client`), order information (`list_orders`), support tickets (`list_tickets`), and service definitions (`list_services`). This is the context agents debate over.
