Team Trade Analysis via MCP Server

The whole team shares the same context. You use `get_exports` to analyze how a region's exports compare across multiple projects. This makes resource data instantly available to everyone in the repository.

Snapshot Labor Markets with VS Code Copilot

You can build robust reports by combining results from `get_labor_force` and `get_unemployment_rate`. Since this config is committed, every developer has immediate access to the latest labor data.

Contextualize Investment Flows with MCP Server

When reviewing a project's financial scope, use `get_fdi` to check Foreign Direct Investment inflows. This context helps your team write more accurate and well-informed code blocks.

Setup guide

Set up World Bank Labor & Trade MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

Add the World Bank Labor & Trade MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the World Bank Labor & Trade tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent World Bank Labor & Trade transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
