Generate functions that track user activity.

Need to build a function that checks if enough people are online? The `get_online_count` tool feeds the current number directly into your code. You can also write logic around listing users using `get_room_users`. When the agent calls these tools, it doesn't use mock data; it injects a live JSON array or integer response right where you need it.

Code room management and user kitting.

If your goal is to automate moderation, write code that calls `kick_room_user` when certain criteria are met. You can also build a function that lists all available rooms using `list_rooms`. The AI generates the working API call, making sure you don't have to switch out of Cursor to test data.

Build media stream detection into your code.

To build a dashboard that shows active streams, use `get_room_streams` and `get_usage_stats`. The agent writes the surrounding boilerplate needed to process this data. This capability lets you write reliable backend logic based on real-time RTC metrics without writing any setup code yourself.

Setup guide

Set up ZEGO / 即构科技 MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)

  2. 2

Add the ZEGO / 即构科技 MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent ZEGO / 即构科技 transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the ZEGO / 即构科技 tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.

Common questions about ZEGO / 即构科技 MCP in Cursor

You create a `.cursor/mcp.json` file and add the server details there. When Agent mode is enabled, your AI client knows how to call the tools and inject the results into the code you're writing.
Yes. This is its core feature: The MCP Server provides real API responses (like user lists or usage metrics) that are injected directly into the code you're composing.
It gives highly granular operational data: specific user statuses, counts of active users, and a list of media streams running in various rooms. It's all about real-time context.
You can. The MCP Server provides the necessary tools—like `check_user_status` and `get_room_users`—to build complex application logic in a fully typed environment.
The server touches user presence status, room metadata (list of rooms), and quantitative usage statistics. It's pure operational data for your code base.
