Managing complex inventory queries with the MCP Server
Give your AI client a single goal—like 'Find all open purchase orders for high-value items.' Cascade figures out the steps. It first runs `list_purchase_orders` to get IDs, then uses those IDs and calls `get_item_details` on the MCP Server. The result is a clean summary ready for you. You don't have to prompt Windsurf for each step. Just define the objective, and Cascade handles the full chain of actions across Zoho Inventory tools automatically.
Creating new inventory assets via the MCP Server
Need to onboard a new product? Your AI client uses `create_item` to handle it. You just provide the item name and sales rate, and Cascade takes care of the rest. If you want an extra description, you can include that too. This lets your agent update Zoho Inventory records instantly, treating the tool like a natural extension of your coding environment.
Tracking customer accounts with the MCP Server
Getting IDs is half the battle. Windsurf uses `list_contacts` to pull a roster of customers and vendors. This data set gives you all the necessary identifiers for billing. Once you have contact records, your agent can then check payment status by listing invoices via `list_invoices`. It's an automated path from identifying people to checking their financial standing in Zoho Inventory.
