  Can this MCP access other Google Cloud services?

  No. This MCP is strictly limited to the specific Pub/Sub subscription you configure. It does not have access to your wider GCP environment.

  How do I prevent messages from being processed twice?

  You must use the acknowledge_messages capability with the correct ackIds after your agent finishes a task. If you don't, the messages will be redelivered.

  Yes. It follows the principle of least privilege by scoping access to a single subscription rather than requiring broad project permissions.

  Why limit the agent to a single Pub/Sub Subscription?

  To enforce zero-trust security. An autonomous AI agent pulling its worker tasks should not have access to read messages from unrelated subscriptions, such as system audit logs or financial events.

  Why do I need to acknowledge messages?

  Pub/Sub uses at-least-once delivery. If you pull a message but don't acknowledge it using its ackId, the message will reappear in the queue after the acknowledgment deadline expires.

  Does the agent handle base64 decoding?

  Yes! The MCP Engine automatically decodes the data field of every incoming message from base64 into an easily readable UTF-8 string/JSON.
