Key Capabilities
Automate Pub/Sub message publishing
The `pubsub_publish_message` tool publishes a message to the specific Google Pub/Sub Topic. By setting this up in `.vscode/mcp.json`, every developer on the team gets instant access to this functionality. It makes complex cloud interactions feel like calling a simple function within your current file, simplifying CI/CD scripting.
Centralized tooling for all developers
Using the project-level configuration allows IT teams to manage and enforce tool usage across an entire repo. You commit the shared `mcp.json` file, and everyone inherits the capability. This ensures that every developer is working with the exact same tools and definitions for connecting to services like Google Pub/Sub Topic.
Agent-driven API interaction
When Copilot Chat runs in Agent mode, it doesn't just suggest code; it executes the required steps. It calls `pubsub_publish_message` and uses the resulting data to continue building out your application logic. This is how you build truly autonomous pipelines that span multiple services.
