Key Capabilities
End-to-end data extraction and file creation
The `scrape_url` tool gives Cline immediate access to any live web page's rendered HTML or markdown. Cline triggers this tool to read documentation, competitor sites, or API schemas directly from your editor. After pulling the raw data, the agent writes the parsing script, creates your local JSON files, and runs tests to ensure the data is structured correctly. You get a complete, working scraper codebase without typing a line.
Parallel bulk scraping with Cline
The `create_batch` tool processes dozens of URLs in parallel to handle bulk data collection tasks. Cline initiates the batch request, tracks progress, and retrieves the payload once completed. Using `get_batch_results`, the agent pulls the entire dataset into your local workspace. Cline then formats, filters, and writes the output directly into your project files.
Custom scraper agent management
The `create_agent` tool configures dedicated scraping agents for complex websites. The agent handles configuration, calls `get_agent` to verify the settings, and manages your active scrapers. To keep your operational costs transparent, Cline calls `get_usage` to display your current API credit consumption right inside the VS Code terminal interface. No more guessing about API usage limits.
