Key Capabilities
Build UIs with Real Product Data
Tell your agent in Cursor to fetch actual products from your catalog using `search_products` or `search_filtered`. It will get the response and write the code to render it—all in one step. No more lorem ipsum or placeholder images. For example, you can prompt: 'Find 5 products in the *shoes* category under $100, then generate a React component to display them.' The agent uses `search_category` and `search_price_range` to get live data, then writes the component with real product names, images, and prices.
Write Integration Tests That Aren't Brittle
You can write test files that use this MCP server to hit the actual Searchspring service. Ask your agent to write a test that uses `search_sku` to confirm a specific product is available and has the correct price. This makes your tests more meaningful. Instead of checking against a static mock file that's probably out of date, you're testing against the live catalog data your customers see. It's a much better way to catch real-world bugs.
Query Your Searchspring Catalog in Cursor
You don't need to leave your editor to check product data. Open the chat and ask your agent to 'Find all products from the brand *Patagonia*.' It uses the `search_brand` tool to query your Searchspring index and drops the results right into the conversation. This is great for quick lookups while you're coding. Use `search_sorted` to check sorting logic or `search_pagination` to see how your catalog pages are returned. It's like having a database client for your search index.
