Key Capabilities

Resolve booking conflicts between revenue goals and guest experience.

Set up a debate. One agent can use `check_availability` to maximize seat count for immediate profit, while another uses `get_guest` data to prioritize known VIPs. The agents must argue until they agree on the optimal seating plan. The final consensus decision is a balanced recommendation that considers both metrics.

Determine overall venue capacity across multiple locations.

You initialize two agents: one for operations, one for finance. The Ops agent calls `list_venues` and then `check_availability`. The Finance agent uses the resulting data to calculate potential revenue loss if specific tables are reserved. The debate resolves into a recommended action that minimizes financial risk while maintaining flow.

Manage waitlists through simulated staffing discussions.

Run a simulation where agents debate host protocols. One agent uses `list_waitlist` to see the current queue length, and another uses `get_reservation` data to check if any waiting guests are actually confirmed for an earlier time. The output is not just a list; it's a negotiated, revised operational procedure.

Setup guide

Set up SevenRooms MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes SevenRooms tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="SevenRooms_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent SevenRooms data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about SevenRooms MCP in AutoGen

The agents debate the *best way* to use `get_guest` data. One agent might argue for checking loyalty status, while another argues for simply verifying contact info before making a booking change.
Yes. You can set up agents to debate the optimal time to check `check_availability`—one agent might suggest checking during off-peak hours for better data, while another insists on real-time checks.
The agents debate the scope of `list_reservations`. One may argue that only 'today' matters, while a second agent pushes for checking future dates as well.
You can build an agreement process where agents use `list_events` to compare pricing and capacity. They debate whether the cost of a large group reservation justifies the lost revenue from smaller parties.
The server touches guest profile data (`get_guest`). The agents debate who has the authority to access this sensitive PII, simulating necessary internal approval workflows.
