Key Capabilities

Managing Product Catalogs via MCP Server

Need to update product data? You can use `list_shoplazza_products` to get a full list of items, and then run `get_shoplazza_product` for deep details on any specific SKU. This lets your agent check inventory status before generating reports. If you're adding new goods, simply call `create_shoplazza_product`. The built-in guardrails validate the input data structure, so you don't send bad JSON to Shoplazza.

Handling Customer and Order Records

Your agent needs to know about a customer? Start by calling `list_shoplazza_customers` to pull the list. Then, use `get_shoplazza_customer` with an ID to get their specific details. This is crucial for fulfillment checks. To track what was sold, run `list_shoplazza_orders`. You can then pass a specific order ID into `get_shoplazza_order` to see line items and shipping status.

Analyzing Shop Metadata

Want to know the general state of the store? Use `get_shoplazza_shop` to pull core metadata about the entire shop. This gives context that other tools don't provide. If you need to see what categories are available, run `list_shoplazza_collections`. It lets your agent map product groups and understand how Shoplazza organizes its digital shelves.

Setup guide

Set up Shoplazza MCP in OpenAI Agents SDK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • openai-agents package (pip install openai-agents)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install the SDK

    Run pip install openai-agents to install the OpenAI Agents SDK. The MCP integration is built-in — no extra dependencies needed.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use MCPServerSse with your Vinkius endpoint URL. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. The SDK auto-discovers all Shoplazza tools at runtime.

  3. 3

    Create your Agent

    Pass the MCP to Agent(mcp_servers=[server]). The agent receives Shoplazza tools as native definitions — JSON schemas resolve automatically.

  4. 4

    Run the agent

    Call Runner.run(agent, prompt) to execute. The agent invokes the appropriate Shoplazza tools and returns structured results. Copy the full example on the right to get started.

agent.py
import asyncio
from agents import Agent, Runner
from agents.mcp import MCPServerSse

async def main():
    async with MCPServerSse(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ) as server:
        agent = Agent(
            name="Shoplazza Agent",
            instructions="You have access to Shoplazza tools.",
            mcp_servers=[server],
        )
        result = await Runner.run(agent, "List recent transactions")
        print(result.final_output)

asyncio.run(main())

Common questions about Shoplazza MCP in OpenAI Agents SDK

The agents' built-in guardrails validate actions before they run. If you try to pass bad or malformed data, the agent fails safely instead of sending corrupted information to the MCP Server.
You can list all customers using `list_shoplazza_customers`, then iterate through them, calling `get_shoplazza_customer` for each one to compile a full user report.
Yes. The tools are designed for cross-border e-commerce, handling both product listings and order details from various global sources through the MCP Server.
You should use `list_shoplazza_products`. This returns a structured list of all items in the store that your agent can then process further.
The server handles core e-commerce data, including customer records, product SKUs, order history, and general shop metadata. It covers everything needed to manage a global storefront.
