Key Capabilities

Smarty Address Validation for Cline

Cline executes code that calls `validate_us_address` to check delivery point validation (DPV) status. You'll get back precise coordinates and a definitive pass/fail status for any US address. This means you write the service layer, run tests against the Smarty MCP Server, and immediately see if your code handles bad or perfect addresses correctly.

Creating Location Service Functions with Cline

Need to build a function that parses text? Use `extract_addresses` within your component. You can write the logic to grab physical addresses from raw strings and then pass them directly into your new service module. Cline handles this end-to-end, letting you stage commits for location intelligence features without ever leaving VS Code.

Running Address Autocomplete via Cline

Implement predictive suggestions using `autocomplete_us_address` or `autocomplete_intl_address`. You can write the API endpoint that calls these tools, ensuring your application gives users accurate, type-ahead suggestions. This allows you to build a complete front-end experience around reliable location data, all within the IDE.

Common questions about Smarty MCP in Cline

You write TypeScript or JavaScript code that calls the `validate_us_address` tool. Cline executes this logic, running unit tests against the MCP Server to prove your DPV checks work every time.
Yes. You can write the integration across multiple files—say, one for US validation and one for international addresses—and Cline manages the dependencies and testing for you.
You call `extract_addresses` in your code. It pulls physical addresses from raw text, letting you clean up user input before it hits the main validation logic.
Smarty handles physical address strings and geocoding coordinates. When using Cline, this means your code is working with sensitive location data that needs careful handling.
It does. You can write specific logic paths: one calling `validate_us_address` and another calling `validate_intl_address`, giving your application comprehensive global coverage.
