Key Capabilities

Automate complex status updates.

Need to update ten tasks and then delete the old ones? You script it. Your agent executes `update_task` for existing entries, and when you're done, a clean up with `delete_task` gets rid of the junk. Cline ensures that your entire sequence runs without needing manual confirmation between steps.

Build task reporting scripts.

You can write a simple script to run `list_tasks`, filtering by date range, and pipe the output into a report file. This gives you a clean CSV of everything due next week. If you need more detail on one item, running `get_task_details` provides all the associated metadata.

Verify user data and scope.

Before your script runs, it's smart to check who it thinks it is. Running `get_user_profile` confirms the current identity within Sunsama. Need to know what silos exist? Use `list_contexts` or `list_channels` to verify that the workspace structure is correct for your code.

Common questions about Sunsama MCP in Cline

Cline lets you treat task management like any other system call. You use functions like `create_task` and `update_task` directly from your terminal code, treating the entire process as one atomic unit.
Yeah, you run `list_channels`. This command prints out every channel name—like 'Work' or 'Personal'—so your script knows which scope to target.
Yes, the `delete_task` function is permanent. It removes the entry from Sunsama completely, so double-check what you're running before executing that line.
The agent uses functions like `list_contexts` to detect and manage boundaries. This means your script can transition between different project workspaces within the same run.
This MCP Server processes structured task records, user profiles, and channel lists. The primary focus is on manipulating `tasks` metadata.
