Key Capabilities

Manage Business Entities CLI

To list every registered business, just run `list_businesses`. It outputs a clean JSON array you can pipe directly into other scripts. If you need to initialize a new entity, call `create_business` and feed it the necessary data via STDIN. No GUI needed; just pure terminal execution.

Check Form Submission Status CLI

Need an instant status update? Use `get_submission_status(id)` in your CI/CD pipeline. It checks the current e-filing state for W-2, 1099, or ACA forms. For a script that needs to know which forms are available, piping output from `list_tax_forms` is your best bet before building the main submission logic.

Audit Form Transmissions CLI

Running an audit? Pipe `list_transmissions` into a file to capture all filing records. This tool lists every US tax form transmission. You can also use `list_businesses` if you need to scope your search by specific client IDs before pulling the history.

Common questions about TaxBandits MCP in Claude Code

It's a simple pipe operation. You run `get_submission_status(id)` and the output is machine-readable JSON, perfect for passing to subsequent shell scripts or logging.
Yeah, just call `list_businesses`. The MCP Server handles the connection and spits out a clean list of entities you can grep for specific IDs right from your terminal session.
This server handles W-2, 1099, and ACA forms. When running scripts through the MCP Server, remember that all tax filing data must be handled securely; never log raw PII to a public CI/CD pipeline.
Use `list_tax_forms`. Pass your filters as JSON and the output is structured enough for immediate scripting. It's designed for headless execution.
The primary limitation is network access, of course. But generally, since it supports stdio and HTTP transports, you can run these tools anywhere that has a secure connection.
