Key Capabilities

Build multi-modal journey scripts.

The `get_journey` tool allows you to script complex journeys between two locations. You can write code that iterates through multiple route options, comparing total duration and fare estimates. Instead of just reading a plan, your agent uses this data to calculate optimal pathing for a dashboard component or an automated alert system.

Check live service status programmatically.

Use the `get_line_status` tool to fetch current service status across all TfL lines. This lets your script check if, for example, the Overground is experiencing Severe Delays before running a core process. The output structure gives you line IDs and severity levels, so you can write logic that automatically triggers an alert if anything falls below 'Good Service'.

Find infrastructure details via MCP Server.

The `get_stop_point_details` tool provides rich metadata for any given TfL stop point. You feed it a station ID and get back info on step-free access, fare zone, and served modes. You can use this in your build process to verify if an API endpoint should only be hit by users needing full accessibility details.

Common questions about TfL MCP in Cline

You call `get_bike_points` to list all available Santander Cycles docking stations across London. Your script then filters this data, allowing you to programmatically report the current number of bikes at any specific dock ID.
Yes. By calling `get_road_disruptions`, your code can check for incidents affecting a specified road segment, like the A4. This is useful for pre-flight checks in logistics scripts.
You use `get_arrivals` by passing both a stop ID and the required service type (e.g., 'bus' or 'tube'). Your script receives predicted times, destinations, and vehicle IDs, letting you process raw timing data.
The `get_place_search` tool allows your code to search for places of interest, like 'Museums in South Bank,' giving you IDs and coordinates that you can then feed into other services.
This server handles public infrastructure metadata: stop point details, road disruption descriptions, and vehicle compliance status (like ULEZ). It never processes private user location data.
