Key Capabilities

Scripting odds retrieval for production.

Connect your workflow to the MCP Server, then use `get_odds` in a single command. You can pipe the resulting data directly into shell scripts or other backend services. This is ideal for nightly jobs that need to analyze betting markets across multiple sports.

Headless scoring check.

Use `get_scores` in a CI/CD context. You can write a script that checks if a specific sport has reported scores before running a deployment, acting as a pre-flight gate. The output is clean JSON, perfect for consuming machine logic.

Discover all supported markets via CLI.

Running `list_sports` allows your automated pipeline to validate which sports are currently active. You get a definitive list of available data endpoints. This means your scripts don't break if the source adds or removes a category.

Common questions about The Odds API MCP in Claude Code

You can run `get_odds` as part of a deployment step. Claude Code pipes the output to standard out, allowing subsequent scripts to consume it immediately.
Yes. By using `get_scores`, you retrieve past results, which is crucial for running backtesting simulations as part of your automated testing suite.
The server only handles generalized betting odds and scores. Since the data is aggregated statistical information, there are no PII concerns for your shell scripts.
Absolutely. Because it's an MCP Server connection, you get a stable, documented endpoint that works reliably within cron jobs or GitHub Actions.
First run `list_sports` to gather all IDs. Then, write a simple loop in your shell script that calls `get_odds` for each ID sequentially.
