Key Capabilities

Team Template Management

The entire team can rely on `list_pdf_templates` to see the definitive list of templates. This makes onboarding easy, since every developer sees the same available document structure. Need to update a template? Use `get_template_details` first so everyone knows exactly what they're changing before calling `delete_pdf_template`.

Workflow Automation with Webhooks

Instead of manual checks, you can use `create_webhook`. This sets up automatic notifications when a document is ready or if an error occurs. It's great for CI/CD pipelines. You also have `list_webhooks` to audit exactly which automated triggers are running across the team.

API Reliability Checks

Before committing a build, Copilot can run `get_api_status` for an instant connectivity check. Developers also use `get_credit_balance` to ensure that high-volume runs won't suddenly halt due to budget overruns. Knowing these status metrics keeps the entire team on the same page.

Setup guide

Set up ThePDFMaker MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the ThePDFMaker MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the ThePDFMaker tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent ThePDFMaker transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
