Script 7shifts MCP Server Operations

Terminal users don't want to click through web portals to manage staff. You can pipe a CSV of new hires straight into Claude Code. The CLI reads your file, maps the data, and fires the `create_employee` tool for every row without leaving your shell. Run this as a cron job or a background script. Claude Code handles the headless execution, letting your backend systems sync HR data into your restaurant scheduling platform automatically.

Query Labor Stats from the CLI

Getting a quick read on current staffing shouldn't require logging into a dashboard. Just ask your terminal to check who is working at the downtown location. The agent runs `list_locations` to find the ID, then pulls the active roster with `get_employee`. The results print directly to your standard output. You can pipe that response into `jq` or another shell utility to format daily labor reports right from your command line.

Sync Webhooks in CI/CD Pipelines

Managing API event triggers across multiple restaurant environments is a headache. You can drop Claude Code into your GitHub Actions workflow to verify your setup. It runs `list_webhooks` during your deployment step to confirm production listeners match your staging environment. If a webhook is missing, the pipeline fails before bad code ships. You get automated infrastructure validation powered by real-time platform data, completely headless.

Common questions about 7shifts MCP in Claude Code

Run `claude mcp add --transport http 7shifts -- `. Make sure you put the transport flag before the server name. Verify the connection by running `claude mcp list`.
Yes. You can write a bash script that feeds coverage requirements to the CLI. It will process the logic and call `create_shift` to populate your roster directly from the terminal.
Yes. You can instruct the CLI to run `list_time_punches` for a specific date range. It pulls the raw JSON, which you can pipe into a local database or CSV file.
The current server exposes `list_locations` for reading data, but doesn't include a creation tool. You can query your restaurant groups, but you will need to add new venues through the main web application.
Vinkius routes your `list_employees` queries through a zero-trust, ephemeral V8 isolate. The data travels straight to your local shell via standard output. We keep no logs of your staff directories or contact information.
