Consensus-driven CMS management in AutoGen

Let your agents debate content changes before they happen. One agent can query `get_single_item` while another checks the site structure, forcing them to negotiate on the best way to update your site. This works great for quality assurance. You can have a 'Writer' agent and a 'Reviewer' agent both access the same CMS data via this MCP server to ensure everything is correct.

Media gallery access for agents

Allow your visual-focused agents to pull assets using `get_media_gallery`. They can then coordinate with other agents to verify image mappings or update metadata. It removes the need for manual asset management. The agents communicate their findings and resolve conflicts regarding which media files belong on which page.

Route analysis for multi-agent systems

Give your navigation-focused agents the full picture using `get_site_flat_router`. They can debate the best URL structure based on your current live routing data. It makes your site management autonomous. Your agents can propose changes to your CMS routes, and you only need to approve the final consensus.

Setup guide

Set up Agility CMS MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Agility CMS tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Agility CMS_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Agility CMS data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Agility CMS MCP in AutoGen

Agents pass tool results back and forth in the conversation history. They can challenge each other's interpretation of the CMS data until they reach a decision.
Yes. You can assign different tools to different agents. One handles content retrieval, while another handles structural analysis, forcing them to collaborate.
The server enforces your API permissions. If an agent tries to call a tool it isn't authorized for, the request fails safely without exposing the CMS.
The server manages parallel requests efficiently. Multiple agents can query different parts of the CMS without blocking each other.
Your content is protected by strict endpoint authentication. Every interaction is ephemeral, meaning no CMS data is persisted on the server beyond the active conversation session.
