How to Use the AirVisual MCP in Cursor
Stop mocking location data. Inject live AirVisual AQI and weather directly into your code with Cursor's agent.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect AirVisual MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect AirVisual to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Generate code with real-world data
Tell Cursor's agent to build a weather widget for your app. It won't use placeholder text. It will call `get_city_data` for 'London', get the real AQI and temperature, and generate a React component that’s already wired up to a live response. This changes how you build UIs. Instead of coding against a static mock file, you're working with the actual data structure from the start. Your code works with the live API from the first draft.
Test functions with actual API responses
Need to write a unit test for a function that handles geolocated data? Don't bother creating fake JSON. Just ask the agent to call `get_nearest_city_by_coords` with test coordinates and pipe the real API response right into your test file. You can validate your data parsing and error handling against the real thing. Use `list_cities` and `list_states` to generate test cases that cover entire regions, making your tests much more thorough.
A shared MCP Server for your whole team
Set up the AirVisual MCP server once in your project's `.cursor/mcp.json` file. Now, anyone who opens the project in Cursor has access to the same tools. No one has to configure anything on their own machine. This makes collaboration way simpler. When your agent uses `get_station_data` to debug an issue, your teammate's agent can call the exact same tool with the same parameters. It keeps everyone's development environment in sync.
