Connect Alpic MCP to LangChain

Create your Vinkius account to connect Alpic to LangChain and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.

Automate environment setup during chain execution

`create_project` initializes your MCP infrastructure instantly when a new project run starts. Your LangChain agent can call `create_environment` to configure dev, staging, or production spaces dynamically based on incoming user requests. Instead of manual dashboard clicking, you write a chain that handles the boilerplate. The agent sets up the target workspace and immediately returns the live connection URL for downstream steps.

Inject environment variables into your LangChain MCP Server

`add_variable` writes database URLs, API keys, and feature flags directly into your active deployment. If a step in your pipeline generates a new credential, the agent updates the environment config on the fly. You can audit current states with `list_variables` or clean up temporary configurations using `delete_variable`. Your agent keeps configurations tight without manual intervention.

Deploy and debug dynamically

`deploy_environment` triggers a new build of your server asynchronously. Your agent tracks progress by calling `get_deployment` and pulls live build output with `get_deployment_logs` if something breaks. If errors pop up, LangSmith traces show exactly which tool call failed. You get immediate visibility into startup issues without leaving your terminal or IDE.

Setup guide

Set up Alpic MCP in LangChain

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • langchain-mcp-adapters + langgraph packages
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run pip install langchain-mcp-adapters langgraph langchain-openai. The MCP adapters package converts MCP tools into native LangChain BaseTool objects.

  2. 2

    Connect via HTTP transport

    Use MultiServerMCPClient with "transport": "http" pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create a ReAct agent

    Pass the discovered tools to create_react_agent() from LangGraph. The agent automatically routes Alpic tool calls through the MCP protocol.

  4. 4

    Run with any LLM

    Swap ChatOpenAI for ChatAnthropic, ChatGoogleGenerativeAI, or any LangChain-compatible model. The MCP tools work identically across all providers.

agent.py
from langchain_mcp_adapters.client import MultiServerMCPClient
from langgraph.prebuilt import create_react_agent
from langchain_openai import ChatOpenAI

async with MultiServerMCPClient({
    "alpic-mcp": {
        "transport": "http",
        "url": "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp",
    }
}) as client:
    tools = client.get_tools()

    agent = create_react_agent(
        ChatOpenAI(model="gpt-4o"),
        tools,
    )
    result = await agent.ainvoke({
        "messages": "List recent Alpic transactions"
    })
    print(result["messages"][-1].content)

Common questions about Alpic MCP in LangChain

Install `langchain-mcp-adapters` and use `MultiServerMCPClient` pointing to your Alpic endpoint URL. Register the tools with your agent constructor to let it trigger deployments and manage variables.
Yes, you can pass different environment IDs to `list_environments` within your chain. This lets your agent inspect or modify dev, staging, or production configurations dynamically based on the current chain state.
The agent calls `deploy_environment` to start the build, then loops through `get_deployment` until the status returns success. If the build fails, the agent can fetch logs via `get_deployment_logs` to diagnose the issue.
Yes. Use `get_tunnel_ticket` to get a local tunnel URL and ticket token. This lets you test your local server changes directly from your local runtime before pushing to production.
All values sent via `add_variable` are encrypted at rest inside our secure sandboxed environments. When you call `list_variables`, the values are masked so sensitive credentials never leak into your agent logs or shell outputs.
