Coordinate Apidog tasks across a CrewAI crew

Assign one agent to `list_projects` while another handles `export_openapi`. The crew shares the output to build a complete project summary. This divide-and-conquer approach lets your agents work in parallel. One agent identifies the scope while the other generates the documentation.

Monitor Apidog changes with CrewAI

Schedule an agent to run `list_endpoints` periodically and compare results. If a new route appears, the crew flags it for review. Your agents act as a dedicated ops team for your API catalog. You get notified of changes without setting up a custom monitoring service.

Generate docs via CrewAI agents

The researcher agent pulls data using `get_endpoint` and passes it to the writer agent. The crew produces a formatted summary of your API surface. It turns raw specification data into human-readable updates. Your team stays informed on API changes through automated agent collaboration.

Setup guide

Set up Apidog MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Apidog tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Apidog Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Apidog data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Apidog access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Apidog transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Apidog MCP in CrewAI

You simply pass the Vinkius server URL into your Agent configuration. The framework handles the connection and exposes the tools for your agents to use.
Yes. Because the agents share memory, once one agent fetches an endpoint schema, the others have access to it for their specific tasks.
Yes, you can restrict which tools each agent has access to. For instance, you can allow the researcher to read endpoints but block the writer from exporting specs.
You provide your Vinkius session token during the server initialization. It keeps the connection secure across all agents in your crew.
The server runs in a zero-trust sandbox. Your API project metadata is processed on-the-fly and is never persisted or logged by our infrastructure.
