Build Unbreakable Payment Flows

Your agent can now run a complete payment sequence. It starts by calling `create_transaction`. If that succeeds, great. If not, Mastra AI's workflow engine can automatically retry or branch to a different logic path. This isn't just about calling an API; it's about building a process that doesn't fail. For example: `create_transaction`, then on success, wait and confirm it appears in `get_unsettled_transaction_list`. This MCP lets Mastra handle the state and timing for you.

Smart Refund & Void Logic

Build a workflow that handles refunds intelligently. Your Mastra AI agent can first call `get_transaction_details` to check if a transaction is settled. Based on the result, it will correctly choose to use either `refund_transaction` or `void_transaction`. This eliminates manual errors. You define the logic once: if status is 'settledSuccessfully', use refund; otherwise, use void. The agent executes it perfectly every time, and you can add a notification step to alert an admin.

End-of-Day Reconciliation with this MCP Server

Set up a scheduled Mastra AI agent to automate your daily close-out. The agent can use `get_settled_batch_list` for a specific date range, then iterate through each batch ID with `get_transaction_list` to get all the day's transactions. Once you have the transaction list, your workflow can compare it against your internal database, flag discrepancies, and use `get_batch_statistics` to get a final summary. The entire reconciliation process runs automatically, no human needed.

Setup guide

Set up Authorize.net MCP in Mastra AI

Prerequisites

  • Node.js 18+ and a TypeScript project
  • @mastra/mcp + @mastra/core packages
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run npm install @mastra/mcp @mastra/core plus your preferred model provider (e.g. @ai-sdk/openai).

  2. 2

    Configure the MCPClient

    Create an MCPClient with your Vinkius endpoint as a URL object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Discover and inject tools

    Call mcpClient.listTools() and spread the result into your agent's tools object. All Authorize.net tools become native Mastra tools.

  4. 4

    Run with any model

    Swap openai("gpt-4o") for any AI SDK-compatible provider. Call agent.generate() and the agent routes tool calls through MCP automatically.

agent.ts
import { MCPClient } from "@mastra/mcp";
import { Agent } from "@mastra/core/agent";
import { openai } from "@ai-sdk/openai";

const mcpClient = new MCPClient({
  id: "authorizenet-1-mcp-client",
  servers: {
    "authorizenet-1-mcp": {
      url: new URL(
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
      ),
    },
  },
});

const agent = new Agent({
  name: "Authorize.net Agent",
  model: openai("gpt-4o"),
  instructions: "You have access to Authorize.net tools.",
  tools: {
    ...(await mcpClient.listTools()),
  },
});

const result = await agent.generate(
  "List recent Authorize.net transactions"
);
console.log(result.text);

Common questions about Authorize.net MCP in Mastra AI

Mastra AI is built for this. Your workflow can define a `catch` block for the `create_transaction` tool. Inside it, you can log the error, notify an admin, or even retry the payment with different details.
Absolutely. Use `get_settled_batch_list` and `get_transaction_list` to pull all transactions for the day. Mastra's workflow engine lets you process them one by one and compare them against your own records.
Your agent should use `void_transaction` for payments that haven't settled yet, which you can check with `get_unsettled_transaction_list`. For settled payments, use `refund_transaction`. Mastra's conditional logic makes it easy to build an agent that automatically picks the right one.
First, get a list of all customer IDs with `list_customer_profiles`. Then, your agent can use `get_customer_profile` with a specific ID to retrieve that customer's stored information from Authorize.net.
Yes. The server handles payment transaction details and customer profile identifiers. Your connection is secured by your Vinkius token, and the MCP server itself runs in an ephemeral, sandboxed environment that's destroyed after each run.
