Debate flight routes in AutoGen

Let your agents argue over the best flight paths using live data. One agent calls `list_routes` while another evaluates the efficiency, forcing them to converge on an answer. This creates a system where agents challenge each other's assumptions. They use the server to verify facts before finalizing a decision.

Assign specific roles for Aviationstack in AutoGen

Give your agents distinct personalities to handle different data types. A researcher agent can focus on `list_airports` while a logistics agent monitors `list_flights`. They negotiate based on the data they retrieve. The McpToolAdapter makes this easy by mapping the server tools directly into the agents' capabilities.

Automate aviation consensus in AutoGen

Build systems where agents must agree on the facts. They pull data from `list_taxes` or `list_countries` and compare notes to ensure the final report is accurate. The agents handle the complexity of the data exchange. You just define the group chat and let them run the tools until they reach a consensus.

Setup guide

Set up Aviationstack MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Aviationstack tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Aviationstack_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Aviationstack data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Aviationstack MCP in AutoGen

You pass the tools list to the AssistantAgent constructor. The McpToolAdapter automatically handles the schema so all agents in your conversation can use them.
They can. Because they debate, one agent can verify the output of another agent's tool call to ensure the flight data is current.
It does. The server works perfectly in multi-agent setups where different bots need access to the same live flight information.
Not at all. You use the provided HTTP params to define the server and the adapter maps everything into the agent's toolset.
Vinkius uses a zero-trust sandbox to manage the server connection. Your flight lookup requests stay private and the connection is destroyed when your agent finishes.
