Ingest Flight Data into BigQuery

Get real-time aviation data flowing into your Google Cloud environment. Your Gemini agent can call `list_flights` to fetch thousands of active flights, then write the results straight to a BigQuery table. No more manual CSV uploads or brittle ETL scripts. Because Gemini models support long contexts, your agent can handle huge amounts of data in a single pass. Ask it to pull all flights from a specific airline using `list_airlines` and `list_flights`, and it can reason over the entire dataset to generate a summary or look for anomalies.

Cross-Reference with Enterprise Data

Combine public flight information with your own internal data. Your Google ADK agent can query `list_airports` for terminal information, then cross-reference that with your company's logistics data stored in Google Cloud. It connects the outside world to your private infrastructure. This lets you build powerful internal tools. For example, an agent could check `list_routes` for a new flight path, then check your internal database to see if your company services that route. It's all done within the Google Cloud ecosystem you already use.

Automate Reporting with a Google ADK MCP Server

This MCP Server gives your Google ADK agent a set of ready-to-use tools for aviation analysis. Your agent can automatically generate a report on aviation taxes by country using `list_taxes` and `list_countries`, then save it to Google Drive. Setting it up is simple. You just point the `McpToolset` to your Vinkius server URL. You can even filter which tools are exposed to your agent, giving you tight control over its capabilities. It's designed for building automated, enterprise-scale workflows on Vertex AI.

Setup guide

Set up Aviationstack MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Aviationstack tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Aviationstack_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Aviationstack tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Aviationstack MCP in Google ADK

You'll need to `pip install google-adk`. Then, create an `McpToolset` and pass your Vinkius URL to the `StreamableHttpServerParameters`. Add that toolset to the `tools` list when you initialize your `LlmAgent`.
Absolutely. The agent calls an Aviationstack tool like `list_flights` to get the data as a JSON object. From there, your Python code can easily format and insert it into a BigQuery table using Google's client libraries.
Have your agent call the `list_airports` tool and pass the country's ISO 2 code to the `country_iso2` parameter. The tool will return a filtered list of airports for just that country. Your agent can discover these parameters automatically.
Vinkius maintains the MCP server for you. When Aviationstack adds new data fields or tools, we update the server. Your agent will see the new capabilities on its next run without any changes to your code.
The server only handles the flight, airport, and airline records needed to answer your agent's query. Your requests are processed inside a Vinkius sandbox, totally isolated from other users. No query data is ever stored or logged.
