Script Brex Card Creation in Claude Code

The `brex_create_card` tool generates virtual corporate cards directly from your terminal session. You can pipe a list of SaaS vendors from a local text file into Claude Code, and it will spin up dedicated cards for each one. The agent then runs `brex_list_cards` to output the new card IDs and limits into a JSON file. This lets you automate subscription provisioning without ever opening a web browser.

Audit Corporate Cash via the Brex MCP Server

The `brex_get_balance` tool fetches your current cash balances directly to your shell. You can run Claude Code in a cron job to check your accounts daily and alert your team if funds drop below a threshold. It can also run `brex_list_transactions` to pull recent transaction logs and pipe them into local analysis tools. This lets you build fast, terminal-only financial auditing workflows.

Onboard Employees and Teams via CLI

The `brex_create_user` tool invites new employees to your Brex account using simple terminal commands. When a new team member is added to your git repository, Claude Code can read the commit and trigger their Brex invite. It then calls `brex_list_users` to verify the user state and maps them to their respective budget programs. This keeps your team directory and financial access perfectly synced.

Common questions about Brex MCP in Claude Code

Run the claude mcp add command in your terminal, specifying the HTTP transport and your Vinkius server URL. Claude Code saves this configuration to your local JSON file for instant terminal access.
Yes, you can trigger Claude Code headlessly to run `brex_pay_vendor` as part of your deployment scripts. It checks your balance using `brex_get_balance` before sending any money.
Claude Code uses `brex_list_transactions` to fetch raw transaction data, which you can pipe directly to local Unix utilities like grep or jq. This makes it easy to filter large financial datasets without leaving the command line.
The terminal will display a standard unauthorized connection error from the Vinkius MCP gateway. You can update your token in your local configuration file to restore access immediately.
Your transaction histories, employee emails, and cash balances are protected by TLS encryption and the ephemeral design of the gateway. No financial data is cached permanently, and credentials reside strictly in your local terminal configuration.
