Calendly MCP Server for Google ADK

Enterprise workflows require calendar access. Connecting this MCP server to your LlmAgent lets Gemini read schedules, check event types, and cancel meetings. You initialize the McpToolset with your HTTP endpoint, and Gemini automatically maps the available operations. Long-context reasoning changes how agents handle scheduling conflicts. You can feed a month of availability data from `list_availability` straight into the model context. Gemini processes the entire schedule at once to find the best overlap for your team.

Cross-reference schedules with BigQuery

Most enterprise users already have customer data sitting in Google Cloud. You can build an agent that pulls a client profile from BigQuery, then uses `list_scheduled_events` to see if they have an upcoming meeting. If the client belongs to a specific account manager, the agent runs `list_org_members` to find the right team structure. It then maps the Google Cloud data to the correct user profile using `get_user`. Everything happens inside your existing Vertex AI pipeline.

Manage event types and invitees

Because this relies on the MCP standard, Gemini agents can dynamically select the right meeting format. The `list_event_types` tool returns all configured templates for a user. Your agent decides whether a 15-minute screen share or a 60-minute deep dive fits the user request. Once a meeting exists, you need attendee details. The `list_invitees` operation grabs names and emails for any scheduled event. If someone requests a cancellation, the agent triggers `cancel_event` and logs the optional cancellation reason straight to your database.

Setup guide

Set up Calendly MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Calendly tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Calendly_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Calendly tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Calendly MCP in Google ADK

Install the google-adk package. Create an McpToolset using StreamableHttpServerParameters with your Vinkius URL. Pass this toolset to your LlmAgent constructor.
Yes, the framework supports a tool_names filter. You can restrict the agent to read-only operations like get_available_times and hide destructive actions like cancel_event.
It works exceptionally well. You can dump massive payloads from list_scheduled_events directly into the prompt. Gemini easily parses hundreds of past and future meetings to answer complex scheduling questions.
The agent calls get_available_times with specific date boundaries. It processes the returned time slots and presents them to the user, or automatically matches them against other calendar data in your Vertex AI environment.
We enforce a zero-trust architecture. When your agent queries list_org_members to fetch team structures and avatars, the MCP server authenticates, fetches the payload, and immediately terminates. No organizational data rests on Vinkius disks.
