How to Use the Checkmk MCP in Windsurf
Use the Checkmk MCP Server to let Windsurf handle your infrastructure monitoring and configuration changes autonomously.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Checkmk MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Checkmk to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Windsurf handles your Checkmk host monitoring
Cascade can pull data from your monitoring setup without you switching windows. Use `list_checkmk_hosts` to see what is currently under management. Once it has the list, it uses `get_host_details` to diagnose issues on specific machines. You just watch the agent work through the stack.
Manage service groups via Windsurf
You can group your infrastructure components logically with `list_service_groups` and `list_host_groups`. This gives the agent a clear map of your environment. It keeps track of every service via `list_all_monitored_services`. If you need to see what is running where, just ask the chat panel to find it.
Apply configuration changes in Windsurf
When you need to push a fix, have Cascade run `activate_checkmk_changes` directly. It treats your infrastructure configuration like code. It checks `list_checkmk_folders` first to ensure the changes land in the right spot. You stay in the IDE while the server handles the backend sync.
