Connect Chroma (Vector DB) MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Chroma (Vector DB) to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Write integration code with Cline
This MCP Server helps Cline use `get_collection` to read the exact settings of your vector database structure. Once it knows the configuration, the agent can write accurate TypeScript or Python integration code directly into your workspace. Because it has access to `list_collections`, Cline maps out your entire database layout before writing a single line of code. This prevents runtime errors caused by mismatched collection names or missing fields.
Verify document counts and contents
When your search results look weird, tell Cline to inspect the database. The agent runs `count_documents` to check if your data pipeline actually populated the collections. To dig deeper, Cline uses `get_documents` to pull the physical text and metadata from the arrays. It displays the raw data inside VS Code so you can compare it against your local test fixtures.
Run semantic queries via this MCP Server
Instead of writing throwaway test scripts, let Cline run `query_embeddings` directly. The agent sends your query string, retrieves the high-dimensional matches, and displays the semantic distance. You can also have the agent run `peek_documents` to check the first few records. This gives you a quick snapshot of your database limits without pulling megabytes of unnecessary data.
