Debug network configs inside Cursor

Use `get_config` to pull live networking parameters directly into your chat. The AI reads these values to suggest accurate code fixes for your infrastructure. Stop guessing your daemon settings. You get the exact state of your environment as you write your deployment manifests.

Query nodes directly from Cursor

Invoke `get_cluster_nodes` to pull current node information into your active coding session. This lets you write logic based on your actual cluster layout. Your agent uses this data to verify your networking assumptions. It keeps your code in sync with your live infrastructure state.

Create and track endpoints in Cursor

Run `create_endpoint` to define new network connections without leaving your editor. The AI handles the call and confirms the result immediately. Use `get_endpoint` to retrieve details on existing interfaces while you code. It provides the context needed to troubleshoot connectivity issues right where you work.

Setup guide

Set up Cilium (eBPF Networking) MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

Add the Cilium (eBPF Networking) MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent Cilium (eBPF Networking) transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the Cilium (eBPF Networking) tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.

Common questions about Cilium (eBPF Networking) MCP in Cursor

Define the server in your local or global MCP configuration file. Once added, your agent can call networking tools during your development flow.
It allows you to write code that reacts to real cluster conditions. You get live data instead of working from outdated documentation.
Only the specific cluster metadata you request is processed. Your local network configuration remains isolated within your editor's runtime.
Use the patch tools to update your daemon configuration while you edit. The agent applies these changes directly to your running environment.
The server operates through a strictly managed sandbox. It only touches your network endpoint identifiers and daemon-level configuration data.
