Mapping Your Whole Workspace Structure

You can map out every damn corner of your organization using simple queries. To start, it’ll list all the major Workspaces you have access to via list_workspaces. From those, you'll grab a full dump of every Space within them using list_spaces. After that, the agent pulls up all the Folders inside any given Space with list_folders, and from there, it lists every List contained in those folders using list_lists.

You can also check for Lists that aren't nested deep inside a Folder by running list_folderless_lists.

Controlling Tasks: Creation and Modification

Need to drop a new task? Just run the create_task tool. You’ll specify which List you want it in, and you can optionally give it a name, set its status right away, or write a whole description for it. If something changes, don't worry; you won't have to manually update anything.

The agent handles that with update_task. You just tell it what needs changing—maybe the task name, maybe the status, or updating the full description—and it makes it happen. Need to ditch a project entirely? It can delete any specific task from your account using delete_task.

Getting Details and Tracking Progress

You don't just need to know that a task exists; you need all the details on it. The get_task_details tool fetches complete info for any single task, including custom fields and who’s assigned to it. This is crucial for accurate reporting. To see what everyone’s actually working on across an entire List, use list_tasks.

This function pulls a list of multiple tasks from a specific List, even if that List has hundreds of items—it supports pagination so you don't miss a thing.

Managing People and Permissions

The server lets your agent audit team assignments by listing all accessible workspaces, which helps manage collaboration permissions and roles across the board. You’ll get complete data on any task, including the assigned user details, ensuring your project records stay high fidelity.

This setup means you cut down on time. Your AI client acts like an embedded project coordinator that lives inside ClickUp, running commands across all your work areas without you ever having to manually click through a single view.
