End-to-End Workspace Setup with Cline

Creating and configuring remote Coder workspaces is handled directly in Cline through `create_workspace` and `update_workspace_acl`. Cline runs these tools via the MCP Server to build the Coder environment, configure access controls, and verify the setup. The agent works directly within VS Code to manage your remote Coder infrastructure. Reading your template files, Cline runs `list_template_versions` and applies the correct Coder configurations. It handles the entire Coder setup pipeline without requiring you to switch from Cline to your web browser.

Real-Time Container Monitoring

Monitoring running Coder workspaces and devcontainers in Cline relies on `get_agent_containers` and `list_workspace_port_shares`. Cline queries the active Coder agent to see which containers are healthy and which ports are open. If a Coder port share is missing, Cline invokes `create_workspace_port_share` to expose your remote server. It monitors the Coder container state directly so you know exactly when your remote app is live in Cline.

Workspace Performance Auditing

Auditing Coder workspace performance and usage statistics in Cline is driven by `get_deployment_stats` and `get_insights_user_activity`. Cline uses this MCP connection to pull real-time Coder metrics to show you resource consumption. Daily active Coder user stats get processed via `get_insights_daus` to help you optimize resource allocation. You get clear insights into your remote Coder infrastructure costs right inside the Cline interface.
