Enterprise community analysis with Google ADK

Connect your Gemini-powered agents directly to your user database using the Common Room MCP Server tools like `list_members` and `get_member`. This allows your agent to pull raw profile data and cross-reference it with customer tables in BigQuery. Because Gemini handles massive context windows, your agent loads entire user histories fetched via `get_member`. It then writes back updated engagement scores or notes using `update_member` to keep your internal systems aligned with actual community behavior.

Automated segment tracking and tagging

Let your enterprise agent manage community cohorts without writing custom database connectors by calling `list_segments`. The agent identifies high-value user groups and matches them against active developer profiles. To organize these users at scale, the agent applies custom metadata using `list_tags` and `update_member`. This lets you build automated workflows that trigger specific marketing or support plays based on real-time activity.

Custom activity ingestion at scale

Push external touchpoints directly into your community timeline using `ingest_activity`. Your agent logs offline events, forum posts, or custom product milestones directly to a user's unified profile. If you need to automate this ingestion, the agent deploys new listeners using `create_webhook`. It also audits active integrations with `list_webhooks` to ensure your data pipeline remains healthy and uninterrupted.

Setup guide

Set up Common Room MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Common Room tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Common Room_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Common Room tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Common Room MCP in Google ADK

Use the `McpToolset` class to point your Google ADK agent to the hosted HTTP endpoint. The Gemini model automatically registers the 12 available tools, including `list_members` and `ingest_activity`.
Yes, the agent calls `list_segments` to fetch predefined cohorts like "At Risk" developers. It then uses `get_member` to inspect individual profiles and plan outreach.
Your agent processes incoming event streams from Google Cloud and uses `ingest_activity` to write them directly to the timeline. It handles API rate limits through the Vinkius gateway.
Yes, the agent executes `get_token_status` at the start of its run. This ensures the connection is active before processing deep analytical tasks.
All transit between Google Cloud and the API is encrypted via HTTPS through the Vinkius gateway. If a user requests data removal, your agent invokes `delete_member` to instantly wipe their personal records.
