Inject CoreMedia Content Cloud data into Cursor with MCP

`get_navigation_tree` pulls active CoreMedia navigation hierarchies directly into Cursor's Agent mode. This allows your Cursor editor to write frontend components using actual CoreMedia navigation arrays rather than guessed mock structures.

Verify multi-brand setups inside Cursor

`get_site_context` resolves multi-brand CoreMedia environment properties directly inside your Cursor editor. You don't have to hardcode brand IDs in Cursor because the editor pulls the exact context from your live CoreMedia server.

Execute CoreMedia GraphQL queries inline with Cursor

`execute_graphql_payload` lets Cursor run live queries against your CoreMedia delivery schema right from the coding panel. The Cursor editor injects the real CoreMedia JSON response directly into your active workspace so you can test your queries instantly.

Setup guide

Set up CoreMedia Content Cloud MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

Add the CoreMedia Content Cloud MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent CoreMedia Content Cloud transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the CoreMedia Content Cloud tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.

Common questions about CoreMedia Content Cloud MCP in Cursor

Create a `.cursor/mcp.json` file in your project root and define the CoreMedia Content Cloud MCP Server configuration there. Enable Agent mode in Cursor's chat panel to grant the editor access to the CoreMedia tools.
Yes, Cursor runs `search_global_content` to scan your live CoreMedia content library for specific assets. The Cursor editor then inserts the retrieved CoreMedia asset paths directly into your open code files.
The Cursor editor uses `get_introspection_query` to check your live CoreMedia schema limits before writing queries. This prevents Cursor from generating invalid CoreMedia GraphQL code that would fail in production.
Yes, `get_cmviewtypes` drops live CoreMedia database bytes inside Cursor by removing explicit app nodes. Use this tool with caution inside Cursor, as this action cannot be reversed.
Vinkius routes all CoreMedia database operations from Cursor through a zero-trust proxy using single-token authentication. Your live CoreMedia database bytes are never cached or exposed to third parties during transit.
