How to Use the Cube.dev MCP in Windsurf
Use the Cube.dev MCP Server to let Windsurf Cascade build data-aware components by querying your semantic layer directly.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Cube.dev MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Cube.dev to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Query your data models inside Windsurf
Cascade uses `load_query` to pull live metrics from your semantic layer without writing boilerplate. It turns your natural language request into the specific JSON payload your API expects. You avoid manual context switching. The agent grabs the results and builds your UI components based on real-time data structures.
Debug generated SQL with Windsurf
When your dashboard shows unexpected numbers, use `get_sql` to inspect what the engine actually sent to your database. It shows you the raw query translation for any complex view. Windsurf reads these logs to fix syntax errors before they hit your production logs. You get a clear path from a broken chart to a working query.
Manage pre-aggregations via Windsurf
Trigger `trigger_pre_aggregation_job` when you need fresh data for a critical report. You see the job status update in real-time using `get_pre_aggregation_job_status`. This keeps your analytics performant without leaving the editor. Cascade handles the polling so you focus on the frontend logic.
