Debate candidate technical scores

One agent calls `list_high_score_candidates` while another evaluates their fit. They debate the results until they reach a consensus on who to interview. This prevents biased hiring. The agents challenge each other's interpretation of the assessment data to ensure only the best candidates move forward.

Negotiate test selection with agents

A recruiter agent proposes a test using `list_available_tests` while a technical lead agent reviews the difficulty. They negotiate until they agree on the right assessment. This ensures your tests align with the actual job requirements. The agents reach a decision that balances speed with technical rigor.

Flag assessment risks in real-time

A security agent monitors `list_recently_sent_invitations` to flag abnormal activity. It alerts the team if it detects a potential issue with your invitation volume. This keeps your recruitment operation running smoothly. The agents proactively manage the risk profile of your assessment campaigns.

Setup guide

Set up DevSkiller MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes DevSkiller tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="DevSkiller_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent DevSkiller data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about DevSkiller MCP in AutoGen

You register the MCP tools with your AssistantAgent. The agents then call these tools as part of their discussion to gather the facts needed for their final decision.
Yes. One agent calls the tool and shares the output in the conversation history. The other agents then use that data to formulate their own conclusions.
The server provides the tools necessary to trigger tests and get reports. AutoGen orchestrates the agents that decide when to trigger these actions and how to act on the results.
Vinkius handles the authentication. Your agents interact with the MCP server endpoint, so you never expose your direct API credentials within the agent code.
Only the specific agents you authorize can see candidate profiles. The data remains scoped to the conversation, and you can audit all tool invocations through the server logs.
