Analyze server fleets with Google ADK

The `list_droplets` tool feeds full hardware specifications and IP configurations directly into Gemini's million-token context window. This lets your enterprise agent run deep analysis on your entire virtual machine fleet in a single prompt. Your agent cross-references these active servers with historical data by executing `get_droplet_details` on problematic nodes. By combining real-time infrastructure states with your Vertex AI datasets, you get advanced anomaly detection.

Map database engines and storage volumes

Run `list_databases` through the Google ADK toolset to extract engine versions, endpoints, and cluster health metrics. Your agent can pipe this structural data into BigQuery to track database growth patterns over time. The agent also calls `list_volumes` to check disk sizes and attachment states across your active regions. This mechanism gives your enterprise model the exact parameters needed to identify unattached or orphaned storage drives.

Audit Kubernetes clusters and domains

Use `list_kubernetes_clusters` to retrieve node health and cluster versions directly inside your Google ADK agent loop. This MCP Server integration exposes live configurations alongside your enterprise networking policies. Your agent validates external access by querying `list_domains` to inspect your active DNS configurations. Matching these endpoints ensures your cloud-native services align with your registered domains without manual terminal lookups.

Setup guide

Set up DigitalOcean MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with DigitalOcean tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="DigitalOcean_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to DigitalOcean tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about DigitalOcean MCP in Google ADK

Install `google-adk` and define `StreamableHttpServerParameters` with your Vinkius HTTP URL. Pass this set to your `LlmAgent` tools array so Gemini can execute tools like `list_droplets`.
Yes, your agent can run `list_databases` to gather cluster specifications, then format and write that structured payload into your BigQuery tables. This lets you build automated infrastructure inventory reports.
The agent calls `list_actions` to retrieve historical changes. Gemini's long-context window easily ingests this entire event log to identify patterns or troubleshoot deployment failures.
Yes, the ADK lets you pass a `tool_names` filter to restrict your agent's scope. You can limit the model to read-only queries like `get_account_info` and block direct infrastructure modifications.
Absolutely, because Vinkius manages your API credentials inside a zero-trust, ephemeral sandbox environment. No raw credentials are sent to Google ADK; only clean JSON structures from `get_account_info` reach your model.
