Real-time Discord context for Cursor

Get accurate server information by calling `get_guild` or `list_channels` during your coding session. Your agent sees the actual structure of your Discord environment. Stop relying on outdated documentation. Use `get_bot_info` to verify your bot's current state and capabilities before you write your implementation logic.

Automate messaging from your editor

Use `send_message` to push notifications or logs from your script directly into a channel. This speeds up your feedback loop during development. Generate code that interacts with your community by calling `list_messages` to ingest real data into your test suites or debugging workflows.

Manage users and channels via Cursor

Run `list_guild_members` to audit your community members without opening a browser. It gives you the exact user data needed for your scripts. Create new workflows by using `create_dm_channel` to automate welcome messages or support responses directly from the code Cursor generates for you.

Setup guide

Set up Discord MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent Discord transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the Discord tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.
