How to Use the Discourse MCP in Cline
Let Cline build custom dashboards and run deep forum scans with the Discourse MCP Server.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Discourse MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Discourse to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build live community dashboards in Cline
`get_site_configuration` fetches your forum's metadata so Cline can construct tailored interface components in VS Code. The agent writes clean code, integrates the live endpoints, and shows you the working layout immediately. You avoid the manual work of writing API fetch requests. This MCP server lets your agent generate, test, and commit code that communicates directly with your forum.
Investigate user profiles and activity spikes
`get_user_profile` extracts detailed account histories to help you analyze recent user behavior. When thread activity spikes, Cline uses `list_trending_discussions` to pinpoint the exact posts causing the surge. The agent processes this data to flag potential spam or highlight highly active contributors. It operates directly within your editor to keep your workflow unified.
Deep content searches across all categories
`search_community_content` executes keyword queries across your entire forum database. Cline then uses `list_forum_categories` to organize those search results by their respective boards. This makes it easy to find outdated documentation or locate specific user discussions. You get the raw data inside your workspace without opening a browser.
