Headless flight mission control

Run automated flight sequences by piping commands into `create_mission` from your shell. Use `list_waylines` to verify your flight files exist before you trigger a launch. Monitor the output of `get_mission_status` directly in your terminal. This allows you to integrate drone missions into existing CI/CD pipelines or cron jobs without a GUI.

Terminal-based hardware diagnostics

Retrieve real-time telemetry by running `get_device_osd` and parsing the JSON output with standard unix tools like jq. It gives you the exact flight metrics you need for custom analysis. Check for hardware alerts by calling `get_hms_stats` during your pre-flight checks. If the drone reports a critical error, your script can abort the mission before takeoff.

Efficient fleet and media management

List all your hardware with `list_devices` and filter the results using shell commands to identify specific drones. Use `get_firmware_info` to generate a report on your fleet status. Catalog your drone media by running `list_media_files` and requesting transfer links via `get_media_upload_url`. This allows for programmatic backup of your flight footage.

Common questions about DJI Developer MCP in Claude Code

Use the command line to add the server with the http transport flag. Ensure your endpoint URL is correct so the agent can discover the tools.
Absolutely. Since Claude Code runs in the terminal, you can call the tools from shell scripts to automate your entire drone fleet.
You can ask the agent to run `get_device_osd` and output the result. It will return the raw telemetry data which you can then process or save.
Yes. You provide your auth token once in your config, and the server manages the session for all subsequent tool calls.
Your telemetry, including exact GPS coordinates and device OSD, is transmitted via TLS. The server only processes this info in memory during the execution of your request.
