Analyze fleet diagnostics using this MCP Server

The agent calls `get_hms_stats` to gather real-time health management system alerts from your drones. It feeds these codes directly into Google ADK pipelines for long-term predictive maintenance modeling. By pairing this with `get_firmware_info`, your agent tracks down compatibility issues across hundreds of devices. This MCP Server acts as the bridge between your physical DJI hardware and Google Cloud data systems.

Run complex flights using Google ADK

Your agent runs `list_waylines` to identify available flight paths stored on your docks. It then triggers the selected route with `create_mission`, allowing Gemini's long-context reasoning to choose paths based on historical weather patterns. During the flight, the Google ADK agent polls `get_mission_status` to monitor execution step-by-step. If an anomaly occurs, the agent switches tasks or alerts human operators with exact coordinates.

Automate drone media uploads to Google Cloud

The agent retrieves a list of captured photos and videos by invoking `list_media_files` on active drones. It then requests a secure destination URL using `get_media_upload_url` to transfer the files. Using Google ADK, you can automatically trigger Vertex AI vision models to process these images the moment they hit your cloud bucket. This eliminates manual file transfers and gets data from the field to your database in minutes.

Setup guide

Set up DJI Developer MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with DJI Developer tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="DJI Developer_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to DJI Developer tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about DJI Developer MCP in Google ADK

You initialize the tools using `McpToolset` with the HTTP server URL and pass it to your `LlmAgent`. The Google ADK agent automatically discovers the DJI Developer endpoints, such as `list_devices` and `get_device_status`.
Yes. You can use the optional `tool_names` filter when configuring the `McpToolset` in Google ADK. This lets you expose only read-only tools like `get_device_osd` while blocking execution tools like `create_mission`.
Gemini's large context window allows the Google ADK agent to digest hours of historical telemetry alongside active diagnostic alerts. This lets the agent make highly informed decisions before calling flight execution tools.
This MCP server supports both Stdio and HTTP transports. For enterprise Google Cloud deployments, the HTTP transport is recommended to keep your agent serverless and scalable.
The server handles media metadata and upload URLs entirely in memory within an isolated V8 sandbox. No media files or DJI credentials are saved on Vinkius, and transport tokens expire immediately after use.
