How to Use the Doppler MCP in Windsurf
Let Windsurf Cascade auto-rotate secrets and manage your Doppler environments without context switching.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Doppler MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Doppler to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Update secrets directly in Windsurf using Cascade
`change_secrets` lets Cascade update your Doppler configuration values on the fly when environment variables change. If you spin up a new database, Cascade writes the new connection string to your target workspace immediately. You avoid the manual copy-paste routine between your terminal and the Doppler dashboard. The agent handles the update, verifies the config, and keeps your local dev environment synced.
Audit Doppler configuration changes in Windsurf
`list_activity_logs` pulls the exact history of who modified which config directly into your Cascade session. This tool helps you track down drift issues without leaving your IDE. When an environment variable breaks a build, Cascade reads the log to pinpoint the exact change. You see who changed the value and when, making debugging instant.
Map Doppler projects to Windsurf workspaces
`list_projects` provides Cascade with the complete list of your Doppler workspaces and projects. This MCP Server lets the agent find the correct configuration target for your active workspace automatically. Cascade uses this structural map to query `list_configs` and select the staging or production parameters. The agent maps your local codebase to the correct cloud configurations without manual path definitions.
