How to Use the Drata MCP in Windsurf
Stop digging through dashboards. Let Windsurf fix your compliance gaps by pulling real-time Drata evidence directly into your codebase.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Drata MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Drata to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Automate Windsurf audit readiness
Windsurf uses `drata_list_tests` to find infrastructure drift before an auditor does. It identifies failing cloud assets and maps them to your active security requirements without you leaving the editor. Your agent inspects `drata_list_controls` to prioritize high-risk failures. You get a clear list of what’s broken and exactly which framework criteria you’re currently violating.
Manage personnel compliance in Windsurf
Stop chasing teammates for training signatures. Windsurf checks `drata_list_personnel` to identify who hasn't finished their security awareness modules or device enrollment. Cascade can cross-reference `drata_get_person` data against your access logs. It flags missing background checks or overdue policy acknowledgments so you can resolve them before they block your SOC 2 audit.
Verify infrastructure with Windsurf
Audit your cloud footprint by calling `drata_list_assets` inside Windsurf. It pulls the encryption status and regional data for every bucket and database in your stack. You can use `drata_get_policy` to verify if your current infrastructure matches your written security documentation. It turns manual verification into a single, automated step.
