Build search UIs in Cline using real Elastic data

The `search` tool pulls live match payloads directly into Cline's context window. Cline uses these real search results to write accurate frontend components, mapping your UI fields directly to the document schema returned by Elastic. This eliminates guesswork when designing search results cards. If you need to verify the schema structure first, Cline runs `get_engine` to inspect the engine configuration. It checks fields and types before generating TypeScript interfaces for your search components.

Automate document indexing tasks with Cline

The `index_documents` tool lets Cline write data-migration scripts and run them immediately via the MCP Server to populate your index. You can point Cline to a directory of raw JSON files, and it will parse, validate, and index them. It verifies the results by running `list_documents` on the target engine. This end-to-end execution means Cline writes the parser, tests it locally, indexes the data, and runs a test search to confirm everything works. You just watch the diffs and approve the steps.

Debug search relevance issues using live analytics

The `analytics` tool retrieves query performance logs directly into your VS Code workspace. Cline analyzes these search metrics to find zero-result queries and proposes schema updates or custom engines. It uses this data to adjust search parameters in your code. By combining analytics with `list_engines`, Cline pinpoints which engines are underperforming. It suggests targeted indexing changes or field weight adjustments right inside your editor.

Common questions about Elastic Enterprise Search MCP in Cline

Cline runs the `search` tool to fetch raw JSON payloads from your engine. It uses these real document schemas to write typed React or Vue components, ensuring your UI matches your search index structure.
Yes. When an index run fails, Cline can call `list_documents` to inspect current states, modify your local JSON parsing script, and re-run `index_documents` until the data formats perfectly.
Open the Cline sidebar, click the MCP Servers icon, and add the server via the Remote Servers tab using your Vinkius URL. Alternatively, paste the server configuration directly into your `cline_mcp_settings.json` file.
Yes. Cline uses the `list_engines` tool to retrieve all engines configured in your Elastic cluster. It displays this list directly in your sidebar so you can choose which engine to query or update.
Security is handled via ephemeral, zero-trust V8 execution environments where no search query logs or raw document payloads are stored. Your Elastic credentials stay encrypted and are only used to sign outbound API requests directly to your cluster.
