Share search diagnostic tools across your engineering team
The `search` tool and `list_engines` tool allow your team to run diagnostic queries directly within VS Code Copilot. By checking in a shared configuration file, every developer on your team gets instant access to your Elastic engines. When debugging a search bug, any developer can ask Copilot to run a query and inspect the raw payload. This shared access eliminates the need to distribute separate Postman collections or share admin passwords.
Validate schema migrations using this team-wide MCP Server
The `get_engine` tool and `index_documents` tool let your team test schema migrations directly inside VS Code Copilot. This MCP server inspects the active engine schema and attempts to index test records to verify compatibility. This prevents broken schemas from reaching your staging environments. The agent catches type mismatches in your JSON payloads before you commit the ingestion code to your repository.
Analyze production search queries in your workspace
The `analytics` tool and `list_documents` tool bring real user search telemetry directly into VS Code Copilot. Your developers can query the analytics endpoint to inspect search trends and click behaviors without leaving their coding environment. This telemetry helps your team prioritize search optimization tasks. If the analytics show a spike in queries with no results, Copilot can instantly locate the search controller in your codebase and suggest synonym mappings.
