Unified contact management for VS Code

Standardize how your team handles subscribers by committing this MCP Server configuration to your repository. Everyone uses the same `add_contact_to_list` and `update_contact_profile` tools. This keeps your team on the same page. You can manage lists and verify contact details without needing individual API scripts.

Analyze campaigns in VS Code

Get your team on the same data. By using `list_email_campaigns` and `get_campaign_summary_report`, you can share performance insights directly in Copilot Chat. It removes the need for custom reporting dashboards. You can discuss campaign results while looking at the exact code that sent them.

Trigger automations via MCP Server

Enable your team to fire automations during development. Using `trigger_automation_for_contact`, developers can test onboarding flows with real data. `create_email_list` and `get_list_details` allow you to manage your segments programmatically. It makes environment-specific list management a simple task.

Setup guide

Set up EmailOctopus MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the EmailOctopus MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the EmailOctopus tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent EmailOctopus transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
