How to Use the Ember Climate MCP in Cline
Tell Cline to build a live energy dashboard. It won't just fetch data with this MCP server, it'll write the code and stage the commit.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Ember Climate MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Ember Climate to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
From Prompt to Live Component
Ask Cline to 'build a chart showing Germany's wind capacity growth since 2020.' Your agent doesn't just give you a data table. It uses the `get_installed_capacity_monthly` tool to fetch the numbers, then writes the actual front-end component for you. You'll see a new file appear in your workspace, complete with the data fetching logic and charting code. All you have to do is review the diff. It's a true end-to-end workflow.
Write Tests with Real-World Data
Forget brittle tests that rely on stale, mocked data. Tell Cline to write a test for your app's carbon calculation logic. It can use the Ember Climate MCP server to pull real numbers with `get_carbon_intensity_yearly` for a specific country. Your tests become instantly more meaningful because they run against reality. If Ember's data shows a change, your tests will catch how your code responds. This makes your application much more robust.
Explore the API Without Leaving Your IDE
Not sure which countries are covered? Just ask Cline. It can use the `get_api_options` tool to tell you exactly which `entity_code` or `series` values are valid for a given dataset, right in the chat. This means no more context switching to look at documentation or try queries until one works. Cline acts as an interactive guide to the Ember Climate data, helping you build correct queries from the start.
