Stream Live Event Data to React

The Eventzilla MCP Server lets your Vercel AI SDK app pull raw event data directly into the user interface. You call `list_currently_live_events` on the backend, and the AI streams the results straight to a React component. Users watch the event list populate in real-time instead of staring at a blank screen. Edge function compatibility means this happens fast. Your agent can grab `get_event_detailed_data` and instantly render venue details or schedules. The data flows from the Eventzilla API to the browser without you writing custom polling hooks.

Render Ticket Orders Instantly

Building a dashboard for event organizers requires fast access to transaction records. Pass `list_event_ticket_orders` to `streamText`, and your AI client fetches recent purchases to format them into a table block. The organizer sees the sales velocity update live. You can combine this with `quick_event_volume_audit` for a high-level view. The Vercel AI SDK handles the tool execution loop, so your frontend just receives the final aggregated numbers. It keeps the UI snappy even when checking high-traffic events.

Expose Discount Rules in the UI

Marketing teams need to know which promo codes are active. Your AI agent uses `list_event_discount_codes` to pull the current rule sets directly into a Next.js admin panel. The UI updates as the AI reads the active and inactive status of each code. We built this integration to handle the heavy lifting. You just call `createMCPClient` and point it to the endpoint token. The SDK maps the Eventzilla endpoints to frontend components automatically.

Setup guide

Set up Eventzilla MCP in Vercel AI SDK

Prerequisites

  • Node.js 18+ and a TypeScript project
  • ai + @modelcontextprotocol/sdk packages
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run npm install ai @modelcontextprotocol/sdk plus your preferred model provider (e.g. @ai-sdk/openai).

  2. 2

    Create the Streamable HTTP transport

    Use StreamableHTTPClientTransport with your Vinkius endpoint URL. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Discover and use tools

    Call mcpClient.tools() to auto-discover all Eventzilla tools. Pass them directly to generateText() or streamText() — no manual schema definitions needed.

  4. 4

    Works with any model provider

    Swap openai("gpt-4o") for any AI SDK provider — Anthropic, Google, Mistral. The MCP tools work identically across all supported models.

index.ts
import { experimental_createMCPClient as createMCPClient } from "ai";
import { StreamableHTTPClientTransport } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/client/streamableHttp";
import { generateText } from "ai";
import { openai } from "@ai-sdk/openai";

const transport = new StreamableHTTPClientTransport(
  new URL("https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp")
);

const mcpClient = await createMCPClient({ transport });
const tools = await mcpClient.tools();

const { text } = await generateText({
  model: openai("gpt-4o"),
  tools,
  prompt: "List recent Eventzilla transactions",
});

console.log(text);
await mcpClient.close();

Common questions about Eventzilla MCP in Vercel AI SDK

Run `npm install ai @ai-sdk/mcp`. Then instantiate it with `createMCPClient({ transport: { type: "http", url: "YOUR_ENDPOINT" } })` and pass the returned tools into your `streamText` call.
Yes, but you need to manage the UI rendering. When the agent calls `list_event_attendees`, it streams the JSON objects back. You should map these into a virtualized list component in React to prevent browser lag.
Always call `mcpClient.close()` when your route handler finishes. Leaving connections open will drain your connection pool and cause memory leaks in edge environments.
Standard API calls require you to build custom UI states for loading, error, and success. The SDK streams the tool execution results directly into your frontend, meaning users see the `list_all_events` data as it arrives.
This MCP server processes raw ticket transactions, including buyer names and order IDs via `list_event_ticket_orders`. Vinkius runs the server in an ephemeral V8 Isolate Sandbox, destroying the memory state the second the request finishes. Your frontend receives the data, but we never store it.
