Automated currency logic with Windsurf Cascade and MCP
Cascade handles conversions on the fly when you set up your database schema. Your agent uses `get_pair_conversion` to instantly calculate conversions between two currencies and write the conversion module. To verify if a currency code is valid, your agent runs `get_supported_codes` to pull the complete list of 160+ currencies. It handles the verification and the code generation in one continuous loop.
Historical rate analysis and volatility checks
Fetching past rates is easy when your agent calls `get_historical_data` directly. The retrieved numbers are parsed and written directly into your local database seed files without manual exports. To get deeper context, Cascade triggers `get_enriched_data` to fetch localized currency details. This payload helps update your test suite to match foreign market formats.
Live rate polling and quota tracking
Maintaining accurate checkout flows is simple when you let Cascade poll rates using `get_latest_rates` through this MCP Server. Your agent writes a lightweight cron script to pull the latest base rates and write them to your cache. To avoid hitting API limits during heavy test runs, Cascade monitors your usage with `get_quota`. Checking the remaining balance lets your agent throttle requests before they fail.
