Execute design-to-code tasks in Cline

Cline acts on your design files by calling `list_project_files` to find the right source. It then pulls the structure using `get_file` to understand the layout. No manual hand-off required. The agent inspects the file, understands the node hierarchy, and generates the corresponding code components.

Visual regression with Figma nodes

Use `get_images` to grab specific UI nodes as visual references. Cline uses these images to check your implementation against the source design. This workflow catches discrepancies early. If a border radius or padding looks off, the agent flags it by comparing the rendered node to your local output.

Handle comments via Cline

Stay in your flow by using `get_comments` to read feedback. Cline can also use `post_comment` to update designers once you finish a ticket. This closes the loop between engineering and design. You spend less time context switching and more time shipping code.

Common questions about Figma MCP in Cline

Go to the Cline sidebar and click the MCP icon. You can add the server URL directly or edit your `cline_mcp_settings.json` file to register it.
It does. Use `get_file_versions` to see the history of a file. This helps Cline understand the evolution of a component over time.
Authentication is handled via your personal token. Cline keeps this token local and only uses it to make requests to the Figma API.
