Autonomous Figma research and analysis

Assign a dedicated agent to monitor your team's design activity. Use `get_comments` to let your monitor agent flag urgent feedback for your development crew. This removes the need for manual file checking. Your agents collaborate to surface issues while you focus on high-level architecture.

Visual regression via CrewAI

Automate your testing by rendering design nodes as images. Use `get_images` to capture snapshots of your UI and compare them against your current build. Your agents handle the heavy lifting. They detect visual drift and report discrepancies to your team, ensuring your design system stays pixel-perfect.

Coordinate design tasks across a crew

Distribute design-related tasks among multiple specialized agents. One agent calls `get_me` to verify user permissions, while another handles file exports. This setup creates a clear hierarchy. Each agent performs its role, using shared memory to coordinate complex tasks that would otherwise require hours of manual work.

Setup guide

Set up Figma MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Figma tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Figma Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Figma data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Figma access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Figma transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Figma MCP in CrewAI

Pass the server URL directly into your agent definition. CrewAI handles the communication protocol, making these tools available to your agents immediately upon startup.
Yes. You can share the server tools across your entire crew, allowing different agents to handle research, analysis, and execution tasks simultaneously.
You can filter which tools each agent uses. This allows you to restrict certain agents to read-only access, like `list_styles`, while giving others write permissions for comments.
The server uses a single endpoint token provided by Vinkius. You configure this once, and the server manages the authentication for all your agent requests.
The MCP server operates in an ephemeral sandbox. It only touches the specific Figma file metadata you request, ensuring no unauthorized data leaves your controlled environment.
